The Mac already has a built-in firewall, anything else is redundant and a waste. You can't protect against something that doesn't exist. There are no viruses for Mac OS X in the wild, nor spyware so there is no need for anti-virus or anti-spyware software. If you want a piece of software that combats that in addition to it's primary function, then you want. There is no anti-phishing software for the Mac. Not only will this fix a good number of bugs and security vulnerabilities, it will also let you run the most recent version of Safari.
